Field Day!!!

End-of-school days are crazy!!  There are events every week until school is out.  One of the best is field day!  The kids love it and it makes for some great pictures.

He was pretty excited to see us.

The fans.

Arik, Zaddok and Gage.  And of course the little brother.

GO GO GO!

These guys cheered Zaddok on at every turn.

Pop the balloon with your butt.  Always a crowd pleaser.

Tire pull.  We are in Texas after all.  Gotta have some red-neck games.

Little lady wore her polka-dot dress and sat so sweet in her stroller the whole time.

She did clap for Zaddok.

The tongue gives him that extra edge.

Love these 3 brothers.

He was happy with a few first place runs.

Asher got to be the 4th grade helper for Zaddy's team.  He did a great job keeping them on track.

All new things.

We are in full swing Spring!  Lots of new babies and green stuff popping up here and there.  No thanks to our weather.  That has been just gross.  It should never rain mud.  (seriously, our weather men call it "raining mud balls")

However, I will not let it get me down.  We keep on going and pray that soon, that sweet Spring moisture will fall from the sky.

This is so exciting to me!  Lots of new bees.  I have had to feed them a little to help them through this dry time.  But they seem healthy and thriving.

Some cuttings from my Grandma's plants.  I am trying to root them a bit before planting.  I would love for these to take off!

This is what you get with the Panhandle Spring wind.  Dirt and lots of it.  Today the sky is blue instead of brown.  That's a start.

Who doesn't love a baby?  So cute!  This is Flores.  She (or he) is named after my sister and her family as they were present during the birth.  This is the kitty that hisses at us.  New Mexico attitude already.  :)

Have to have this picture every year.

My sweet friend from church gave me two chicks she had used in a story time at the library.  We were able to convince this broody mama to take them as her own.  They are doing great!

This little critter follows me all over the yard.  She loves being outside with mama.  I love having her with me.

Oh, and today is her birthday!  Happy 2 Micah!  We love you sweet thing.

A day to demo! (Plus some really cute kids.)

Oh my house.  I am so excited to get the work done.  The process may be rough.  We have tried to organize it to be as easy on our everyday life as possible.  Hopefully we can move things along quickly!  Here's to demolition!

Guys love this tool.

All sizes of guys.

Ewww.

It is like a more civilized version of camping.

Oh my gosh.

This past weekend was Resurrection Weekend.  What a glorious event!  We make a point to look our best for the worship service.  It makes the morning feel very special and set apart.  So naturally, I take pictures.  It is always very stressful but usually successful.

My sweet man.

My little baby girl

My handsome Zaddie.

My almost-teenager.

My Weebies!

I love this picture.  Their faces are precious but their hair is pure comedy.  Stupid wind.

To thwart the wind, we moved into the barn.  These sisters just love each other.

Just another weekend on the Prairie.

Springtime in the country brings all sorts of wonderful things.  Green grass peeks through the crisp thatch, tulips push through the dirt to make their glorious appearance, and our swallows come back to the nest and begin their housekeeping.

I love all of those things.  But the babies that begin to appear are probably my favorite.  Who doesn't love a good baby?  We have had more than our share this weekend!

Levi with one of the cotton-tail bunnies we found in the yard.  Matt had shot an adult yesterday and we are afraid these are her very helpless offspring.  I know it is not good to take wildlife out of their environment.  But these country kids had the bunny cuddled up and in the hamster cage before I even knew what had happened.  We will keep them warm and fed until the weather is stable and then we will release them.  Sadly, the mama kitty below will probably find them.  And she will not be so kind.

Here is Mama kitty.  She had her first litter this weekend.  It was pretty amazing to see her go from a kitten to a mama in a matter of hours.  She is the best mama.  She actually hugs those babies and purrs the whole time she is with them.  Very sweet.  As a bonus, my sister and her family were here this weekend and my nieces got to be a part of all of the excitement!

Nothing better for a country kids than an appliance box and a bunny.  :)

Well maybe a sibling to share it with.  Praying you can appreciate the Spring wonderment all around you.  Have a beautiful Holy Season!

Spring Break in New Mexico

And the zoo fun beings!

There is always that element of danger at the zoo.  Falling into the water at this point in our day would have been a bad deal.

My sweet girl

Zaddie was impressed with the giant catfish.

My Weebies.

Asher my man.  Growing up.

A mama-selfie

3-2-1 and teenager.  She is a pretty sweet one.  Micah loves her Toto.

On the train to the aquarium.

This was my favorite part!  The aquarium restaurant  is worth the cost.  The giant tank is amazing.

Oh Weebies.  Love my girl.

We were there when the diver went in to feed the turtles.  Very cool!

They had some pretty impressive things in that tank.

The result of our day.

A precious car-load of happy and exhausted kids.

Back at Grandmother and Popper's Micah had to see some of Grandmother's tiny shoe collection.

She is just one of a long line of little girls who has tried to stuff her foot in one.

Maybe the bear?
